The loudest tell there is. Every one becomes punctuation a person actually types.

How it works

Select it. Press ⌃⌥H.

It lives in the menu bar. No dock icon, no window in your way, no tab to switch to.

Step 01

Select your text

In whatever you're writing in. Let AI write the first draft or write it yourself, it doesn't matter.

Step 02

Press ⌃⌥H

A small panel opens where your cursor is. Pick lowkey, human or founder, or flick between them with ⌘1, ⌘2, ⌘3.

Step 03

Replace it

Changed words are highlighted. Hit Replace and it writes over your selection.

Haven't granted Accessibility? It runs off your clipboard instead: copy, press the shortcut, paste.

Why a Mac app

Not one website.
Every app.

A browser extension only works where it was installed, and you don't only write there. faiithfully reads your selection and writes the rewrite back with the same copy and paste keys every Mac app already understands, so it isn't integrated with any of these. It just works on top of them.

You bring the API key The app talks to Claude, Groq, or any OpenAI-compatible API (OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter) with your key, so you pay that provider directly for what you use. Groq has a free tier. Or point it at Ollama and run a local model, where nothing leaves the Mac and nothing costs anything.
Needs permission

Accessibility, once, on first launch. macOS lists it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. It covers both halves: reading the text you selected, and sending the copy and paste keystrokes that put the rewrite back.

The ⌃⌥H shortcut itself needs nothing. It's registered with the system hotkey API, which asks for no permission at all.

Needs nothing

Settings shows you both switches live, with a button that opens the right pane. Until you turn them on, faiithfully still runs in clipboard mode: copy your text yourself, press the shortcut, then paste the result. Every level and every feature works, it just can't do the two ends for you.

Where it won't

Password and other secure fields, by design. macOS hides their contents, so there's nothing to read and faiithfully just beeps.

Anywhere ⌘C and ⌘V aren't copy and paste: a terminal with different bindings, vim in normal mode, a remote desktop session.

Apple silicon, macOS 14 or newer. The build isn't notarized by Apple yet, so the first launch needs one trip to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Privacy

Your words stay yours.

  • 01There's no faiithfully server. Your text goes straight from your Mac to the provider you picked.
  • 02Your API key is stored in the macOS Keychain. I never see it.
  • 03No account, no login, no analytics, no crash reporting. The app makes exactly one kind of network call.
  • 04Only the text you selected is sent, only when you press the shortcut. Nothing reads along in the background.
  • 05Pick Ollama and nothing leaves your computer at all.
  • 06The two free rewrites on this page go through my key once and aren't stored. Everything after that is on yours.
  • 07The waitlist is the one thing the site does keep. Your name and email go in a spreadsheet I own, and I use it once, to send you the launch link.
About

Hi, I'm Guna. There's no company here. It's me and one small app.

I write a lot with AI, and then I spend about as long taking the AI back out again. The em dashes. "I wanted to reach out." The lists of exactly three adjectives. After doing that by hand enough times I wrote the pass that does it for me.

I made it a Mac app instead of a browser extension because most of my writing isn't in a browser. It's in Slack, in WhatsApp, in a notes file.

You pay once, you use your own API key, and if something's broken you're emailing me directly. tryfaiithfully@gmail.com
